Before this there were saw horses and milk crates- and then shimming under the board you're cutting so it stays flat/level. And then knocking over the shims. Yes, it won't be missed. This is a great design: folds up, has a carry handle, adjustable supports, sturdy, not too heavy. My only complaint is it should come with better hardware to mount the saw supports- it should have nylon locknuts and better flat washers instead of nuts and lockwashers.
