I used this vice for holding an antique main spring winder for watches. The rubber covers for the jaws were pretty useless for holding with any force. The vise did not close evenly with mild pressure. It tended to squeeze things out rather than hold on. On the other hand it could be put in about any position you needed and didn't move.
