I have had this for about 10+ years with no problem at all. Now after 10 years the switch stopped working. The button itself gave out. I called the manufacturer and they sold me a replacement remote even though they stopped making them in 1997. Mine is a Long Ranger II.
I would highly recommend this product. 10+ years and the only thing that broke is an easily replaceable remote.
